You Promised

You promised to walk with me all through life’s journey. Are you sure you can manage when the path is pricky and wild?

You promised to swim along with me in the ocean of life. Are you sure you would not swim back when tides are high?

You promised to build for us a mansion. Are you sure in the process the tiny cottage of our love wouldn’t crumble?

You promised to bring down the stars for me. Are you sure in the attempt of plucking stars you would still manage to notice the sparkle in my eyes?

You promised to be my best friend. Would you take all the efforts to let not this beautiful bond end?

You promised to hold my hands forever. Would you still hold my hands when others are pulling you afar?

You promised me life full of laughter. Would you be able to make me smile in spite of tears in my eyes?

You promised to love me no matter how I am. Would you still find me pretty when my skin speckles and body bends?

You promised that I would be the only one. Can you hold on to your heart when the options around are many?

You promised to be my pillar to cling on. Are you sure you can manage when the foundations are shaking?

You promised to never break the promise.

Are you sure you would always keep up my heart, and never let me depart?
